Gay Pride Horror: Woman Claims She Was Raped At Popular NYC Piano Bar After Parade

Details are continuing to emerge after a woman was allegedly raped in the bathroom of a New York gay bar following the Pride parade last Sunday.

As DNAInfo is reporting, the woman told authorities she was attacked by a man at the piano bar Duplex at about 12:30 a.m. on June 25, just hours after the parade concluded mere blocks from the popular nightspot's location at Christopher Street and 7th Avenue. The New York Daily News listed the woman's age as 21.

Owner Tony DeCicco declined to comment on the alleged incident, DNAInfo noted. Police say they are investigating security tapes, but that no arrests have yet been made.

If the allegations prove true, the case could be part of what appears to be a disturbing crime spate in the West Village in recent years. In 2011, the area was the site of a series of gay bashings and robberies.

"We've got drug dealers, we've got gangs out here. We're losing Christopher Street," Robert Ziegler, owner and manager of the bar Boots and Saddle on Christopher Street, told DNAinfo in 2011, noting that he'd had to hire additional security. "I've got customers telling me it's too dangerous to come back."

Joan Rivers, Barbra Streisand and Woody Allen are among the best-known entertainers to have performed at Duplex over the years.
